Hypnotherapy

hypnotherapy
Heart Centered Hypnotherapy is a wonderfully designed therapeutic process. Its intention is to reveal our long-held negative patterns, emotions, triggers and subconscious conclusions in order to process them and heal.

Hypnosis vs. Hypnotherapy

clinical hypnotherapistWhile they have the same foundation, hypnosis and hypnotherapy have very different uses and purposes. I practice hypnotherapy.Hypnosis is simply a state of relaxed, focused concentration. Hypnosis is where the client is led into a state of trance, and then the therapist offers post hypnotic suggestions. This may or may not address the issues underlying the behavior the client wants to change.

Hypnotherapy is the process of doing therapy, while the client is in hypnosis. An incredible amount of information is stored in the mind, out of our conscious awareness, and hypnotherapy can often access information and feelings not available during regular talk therapy sessions. I’ve often had clients tell me they have had major shifts in their life after just a few hypnotherapy sessions. Some clients have said that 5 - 10 hypnotherapy sessions are the equivalent of a year’s worth of talk therapy.

Changing the Unchangeable

While I believe totally in talk therapy, I know there are subconscious beliefs that we hold about ourselves and the world that influence our behaviors. These beliefs (e.g. I’m not safe), and how we decide to act based on them (I need to hide myself, or I need to be vigilant), are often completely out of our awareness. Based on these beliefs, we have established “coping mechanisms” that we may have been using for years, but no longer need.

We also may have emotions that seem to come out of nowhere, or our reactions feel totally “over the top” but we’re not sure why we react so strongly. Accessing the origin of these patterns through talk therapy and our conscious mind can be very difficult.

These are the patterns that hypnotherapy can heal. Accessing these emotions and the reasons for our recurring patterns while in trance allows us to release “locked in” feelings, and make decisions to change our future. Not only can we release the pain from the past, but also we can actually heal it and replace it with positive feelings and behaviors…and make new conclusions from a place of our “wise adult”. We can realize that we have control over our lives, and feel empowered by our new choices.

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any.

Since 2000, I have been practicing a specific hypnotherapy technique named Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy™. During these sessions, the client is in a light trance state and is fully aware of his/her surroundings. In fact, you and I talk back and forth as we go through the process. At no point will you be “asleep” or out of control, and you will remember everything that happens in the session.

I have found this process to be very effective for:

  • Addictions
  • Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Road Rage
  • Self-Sabotaging Behaviors
  • Trauma & Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome
  • Eating Disorders
  • Loss and Grief
  • Weight Issues
  • Fears & Phobias
  • Recurrent career and money blocks
  • Physical issues with a possible emotional component (e.g. stomach issues, back pain)

If you feel stuck in talk therapy, let's try this together.
